The invention discloses an elevator system for variably buffering a damping force. The elevator system comprises an evaluator car body and a buffering assembly, wherein the buffering assembly comprises a buffering member which is fixedly arranged at the bottom of an elevator shaft and is used for preventing the evaluator car body from rigid bottoming; the buffering member comprises a buffering spring arranged on a foundation and a buffering plate for supporting the top of the buffering spring; the buffering plate aligns to the bottom of the evaluator car body and the buffering spring is a pitch variable spring. According to the elevator system, the damping force is gradually increased in a bottoming buffering process of the evaluator car; the increasing process is rapid and gentle when compared with that of a common spring; the smoothness of descending buffering is realized and enough damping force is provided, so that compared with the prior art, a buffering route and a gradually-changed elastic coefficient can be increased, and the technical scheme for automatically adjusting a key performance parameter, namely a spring force, is formed; the elevator system is applicable to a high-speed elevator and has an anytime dynamic application effect, so that the comfort and reliability are effectively improved before the evaluator car reaches the bottom and while the evaluator car is in contact with the buffering member, and the safety performance of an elevator is improved.
