The invention provides a testing method for a balance coefficient of a non-load elevator. The method comprises the steps of measuring downward pressure of a gear part which is arranged coaxial with turning wheel of the elevator when a car is stopped without load in the middle position; calculating the difference between counterweight gravity Q and car gravity P according to the moment balancing principle; then calculating to obtain the balance coefficient K of the elevator according to a relation formula (K=Q-P /T) of the elevator balance coefficient, thus achieving the test for the elevator balance coefficient, wherein T represents the rated load weight of the elevator; the medium position presents that the car is as high as a counterweight. The testing method for the balance coefficient of the non-load elevator, the generality is high, and the testing precision of the elevator balance coefficient can be improved. The invention also provides a testing device employing the testing method for the balance coefficient of the non-load elevator. The testing device is simple and convenient to operate, high in measuring precision, time saving and force saving, and can fast, reliably and accurately effectively test the elevator balance coefficients.
