Abstract This application relates, at least in part to improved collision avoidance systems and safety systems and methods for vehicles, particularly on work sites. In some cases, it relates to a collision avoidance system for a vehicle, comprising: at least one sensor on the vehicle, the 5 sensor configured to detect objects within a region adjacent the vehicle, at least one high speed sensor on the vehicle, the high-speed sensor configured to detect objects within a region adjacent the vehicle in a direction of movement of the vehicle, and a controller configured to determine if an object(s) detected by the at least one high-speed sensor is within a selected area. In some cases it relates to a safety system for sideloaders. Figure 1
