This work machine management system is provided with: a position detection device for detecting the position of a work machine traveling a travel route; a non-contact sensor for detecting, without contact, an object near the travel route; map data for storing the existence and positional information of the object near the travel route on the basis of the detection data from the position detection device and the detection data from the non-contact sensor; a travel route generating unit for generating a travel route to be traveled by the work machine; and an identifying unit for identifying an area for which the completeness of the map data about the travel route to be traveled by the work machine is low, or a travel route for which the completeness of the map data is low. The travel route generating unit generates a travel route such that the work machine does not pass through the area for which the completeness of the map data is low, or through the travel route for which the completeness of the map data is low.
