Abstract The continuous-wave frequency-modulated ionosonde that was developed at SibIZMIR, has been used as an automatically-controlled real-time data gathering and processing system. Records are obtained on magnetic tape and can be displaid on a colour TV monitor. Ionograms are automatically processe dnad used for routine predictions of basic ionospheric parameters as well as to establish an ionospheric data base. The system is implemented by use of a micro-computer “Electronika-60” and a mini-computer CM-4.
