Abstract Space-time and phase-frequency characteristics of Ps6 pulsations were investigated during the substorm on March 22, 1979, 14–18 UT at the stations in the Canadian meridional chain. Ps6 pulsations have their maximum amplitudes in the region of maximum intensity of the auroral westward electrojet. Fine structures of Ps6 pulsations were studied by means of Fourier analysis and Maximum Entropy Method. It was shown that spectra of H, D, Z components have three peaks at 25±4, 14±2, 9±1 minute periods. The results of this study confirmed that Ps6 pulsations are the signature of meandering westward electrojet.
