Study was carried out jointly by General Dynamics, Ocean Systems, Inc, and Merritt-Chapman and Scott to develop Large Object Salvage System (LOSS); development is divided into following areas -- surface ships, lift equipment, diving system, diver support equipment, and associated studies; each of areas is discussed by presenting requirements, status, and challenges involved in some of more important projects within program.
