In installation at passenger terminal. Washington, D C, essential part consists of means for supplying power to a-c stand-by motors on air-conditioned cars and supply of d-c power for pre-cooling and charging of storage batteries on cars equipped with d-c systems; all electric power used in terminal is generated in Washington Terminal Co's own power plant, at 2300 v, 3-phase, 60 cycles.
