Air-conditioned dining-and-kitchen cars built to order of Deutsche Schlaf und Speiswagen Gesellschaft are featured; length over buffers is 90 ft 4 in. and body length 89 ft 3 in. with body width of 9 ft 2 in. and height from rail to roof of 13 ft 4 in.; coaches are generally fitted with block brakes, and thus equipped are limited to 140 km/hr top speed; truck design permits addition of electromagnetic rail brakes to any vehicles which are to be put into trains running up to top permissible speeds of 150 to 160 km/hr; dining accommodation is in two saloons with swing door between.
