Thornycroft and Co, at Woolston Works, Southampton; length oa 202 ft; breadth molded 24 ft 9 in.; depth 8 ft 3 in.; paddles, fitted with feathering floats, driven by engine of compound diagonal surface-condensing type; high-pressure and low-pressure cylinders have diameters of 23 and 48 in. respectively, while common piston stroke is 51 in.
