New York City Transit Authority plans to put automated subway train in service in 1961 on its Times Square-Grand Central shuttle line; for use of train one of shuttle line tracks has been replaced with track of special design; rails are placed on rubber tie pads and are bolted directly to permanent concrete roadbed; joints are " frozen" by "glued joint" process.
