Fire department maintained by Pan American World Airways which operates Atlantic Missile Range under direction of Air Force Missile Test Center; apparatus includes 7 crash trucks, 5 pumpers, 3 fire trucks, 2 rescue trucks and 500-gpm pumper modified to carry special equipment such as all types of nozzles, missile propellant, clothing and first aid equipment; launching pad protection described; installation of fixed deck pipe systems; tactics used if missile malfunctions; storage of chemicals and propellants.
