Developments to be used in military landing operation capable of boosting amphibious tactics are exploitation of hydrofoils, ground effect machines, and rugged transportation gas turbines; new vehicle power requirement; characteristics of 1000-hp Lycoming T53 industrial and marine turbine developed; studies and experiments with modified World War II DUKW high water speed wheeled amphibious vehicle and "Hydrophibian", 5-ton 4x4 gas turbine powered vehicle.
