Whirlwind J-6 aircraft engine is made in three sizes, Models R-540, R-760 and R-975 having five, seven and nine cylinders respectively developing 140, 225 and 300 hp.; cylinders have 5-in. bore and 5 1/2-in. stroke; exhaust ports face forward; single-throw crankshaft in two sections. Cyclone R-1750 is 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engine with 6-in. bore and 6 1/2-in. stroke; 525 b.hp. developed at 1900 r. p.m.
