Experience obtained with engine in 13 months of flying operation from June 18, 1926, to July 31, 1927, over Boston and New York City Air Mail route; describes three types of airplane used: Curtiss Lark, Fokker Universal and Fokker Trimotor, all fitted with Wright J-4B engine; comparison of air-cooled and water-cooled types of engine in commercial service, based upon author's experience with both; advantages and disadvantages of three-engined aircraft for purely commercial operation.
