Takoradi railway station, wharves, slipway, and breakwaters constructed; Gold Coast has become second important exporter of manganese ore; 1916 first shipment 4016 tons; by opening of new harbor, 400,000 tons can be handled; Colony will be in better position to ship larger quantities of sisal hemp, cocoa, oil palms, rubber, timber, and mahogany in future; Sekondi Port is now replaced by Takoradi harbor.
