Based on characteristics of thrust delay after engine shutoff, analytical expressions for estimating guidance errors induced by thrust decay in vertical powered flight of rockets are derived by direct series substitution technique; accuracies of resulting guidance errors are obtained with aid of better estimate of errors; numerical example shows effect of guidance errors as result of different characteristics of thrust decay; corresponding cases in which guidance errors are computed by assuming equivalent impulse thrust at end of powered flight are investigated.
