Single-screw steamer constructed by Vulcan Werke, Stettin, for service between Finland and Russian Baltic States; particular attention had to be paid to stability, so that heavy deck loads, such as locomotives, etc., and passenger decks and erections, could be successfully accommodated; space is provided for 120 first, second, and third-class passengers; deadweight, 1,325 tons; speed, 16 knots; machinery consists of single triple-expansion engine, 3 single-ended boilers, each with Schmidt superheaters and Howden's system of forced draft; vessel is amply stiffened against possible ice damage.
