Built by Thorneycroft and Co. to order of crown agents for Colonies, for transportation in sections to Lake Albert; length o.a. 207 ft.; hull is of mild steel with straight stem and cruiser stern subdivided by six watertight bulkheads; ventilation is of natural type; propelling machinery consists of two sets of Thorneycroft triple-expansion surface-condensing engines having cylinders 12 1/2, 19 1/2 and 31 in. in diam. with piston stroke of 15 in., each engine developing 880 hp.
