Universal Pipe Line Constructors, Inc., of Kansas City, Mo, drove 800-ft of 8-in. pipe beneath 42-track rail yard in Savanna, Ill; pilot point was length of heavy-wall 8-in. with 3/4-in. thick plate over end; 5-ft from end was collar which enlarged hole; slurry of bentonite was forced into hole around pipe to support it and prevent caving; slurry also lubricated pipe.
