Transport and handling of various stages (Stage 1 with liquid propellant, Stage II with liquid propellant, transtage, solid motors, and structural frames) is examined; space vehicle in Saturn V program will be assembled on its LUT in vertical assembly building (VAB), checked out, and delivered to launch pad; should operation prove economical, similar technique will be used for future large vehicles; barges will be used to transport liquid stages, solid motors, tools, cargo, and other structures too large for transportation over rail or road; hoisting devices to be used.
