Calculation of wave bending moments for tanker of 28,500 tons dw, and with length bp 610 ft by breadth molded 81 ft by depth molded 44 ft 6 in., load draft 33 ft 11 1/2 in., block coefficient 0.782 and longitudinal center of buoyancy 10.1 ft forward of amidships; wave height equal to 1.1 of square root of L, where L is length, was adopted and length of wave equal to length of ship; wave bending moments for height of wave of L/20, with and without Smith correction, were also investigated.
