Use of auxiliary tractor called pusher, making contact with scraper to load same in less time, is explained; incorporation of cushioning devices into push loading team of tractors and scrapers to contact scraper without customary stopping procedure; cushioning devices can be attached to front of pusher or rear of scraper; variations of placements are shown and evaluations made of physical setup; design criteria, with respect to forces and acceleration rates, used in development of cushioning system by Caterpillar Tractor Co which employs rubber springs as cushioning medium.
