2268 dwt cargo vessels "Cardiganbrook" and " Cardiffbrook" have identical hulls, length oa 276 ft, breadth 38 ft, and speed 11 1/2 knots; Cardiffbrook is powered by prototype Lewis-Doxford diesel developing 1100 bhp at 145 rpm, and Cardiganbrook by triple expansion steam engine having cylinders 16 1/2 in. by 28 1/2 in., with stroke of 30 in.
