Train detector for use of level crossing alarm initiation was developed; it does not require any exclusive line wires between detector and crossing; detector is attachable to any part of conventional a-c track circuit and can detect approaching trains by decrease of track voltage to specified value; detected information is transmitted to crossing with carrier frequency over pair of existing line wires.
