Many missiles and torpedoes call for use of auxiliary power unit to supply warm gas for various devices connected with guidance of weapon; family of gas-generator propellants was developed, based on combination of ammonium perchlorate with new coolant and monopropellant, di-hydroxyglyoxime; system appears capable of replacing ammonium nitrate propellants for many applications, with advantages of higher propellant density, lack of sensitivity to moisture, and absence of crystalline phase changes; uniaxial physical properties of TP-Q-3011A are shown over temperature range of 0 to 160 F; results of environmental tests and applications.
