Supersonic, full-air-capture, filter-paper sampler payload for air-launched, air-recovered rocket (ALARR) has been designed and tested at extreme simulated altitudes; matching techniques have been developed for inlet, subsonic three-dimensional stagnation flow diffuser, filter-paper pressure loss, and exit conditions for sampler to be packaged in prescribed geometry and to operate at particular design Mach number and altitude; characteristics of IPC 1478 filter paper; methods of sealing, and results of tests.
