Means of controlling vertical stability and pitchpole moment in sail-powered hydrofoil craft is described, with reference to design of sail-powered flying hydrofoil, Exocoetus; basic design consists of three-point suspension system similar to modern iceboat, and uses single forward hydrofoil as steering element; vertical and pitch stability are controlled by forward foil system, with some influence from fore and aft shifts in crew weight; experience with experimental craft is cited; photographs are included.
