Bethlehem Steel owns 20,000 acres of ore bearing land near El Florero, Venezuela; Iron ore is mined at El Pao and transported 270 mi to Puerto de Hierro, from where it is shipped to plant at Sparrows Point, Md; deposit is mined in 13-m high benches with cat mounted churn drills; crushers, conveyors; power shovels, railroad equipment, barges, ore bridge and other facilities installed.
