Fleet of 10 carriers being built for Transworld Carriers, Inc, at Deutsche Werft, Hamburg, consists of three bauxite and seven ore carriers, all of same dimensions and form, but differing in hold and ballast tank arrangement; length oa 657 ft 4 in., beam molded 87 ft, depth molded 46 ft, draft at keel 35 ft 1 in., deadweight of ore carriers 35,500 tons, and of bauxite carriers 34,970 tons; propulsion is by AEG cross compound turbines rated at 9000 shp normal, and 9900 shp max; plan.
