Power train of combined diesel or gas turbine (CODOG) plant consists of two diesels, one gas turbine, clutches, combining and reduction gears, controls, and controllable, reversible pitch (CRP) propellers; design and operational characteristics are reviewed; operational experience to date is limited, but its performance indicates that power plant is excellent for applications to small warships requiring high speed and long endurance.
