Comparison of calculated and measured ship responses to regular head waves; it includes analysis of hydrodynamic force distribution along length of oscillating ship model in still water, wave force distribution on restrained model in waves and wave bending moment distribution in regular head waves; it is noted modified strip theory includes some important forward speed effects; analysis shows that calculations are sufficiently accurate for practical purposes, at least in frequency range which is of interest.
