Paper deals particularly with internal combustion engines driving Roots type gas blowers and shows how cooperation between engine and blower manufacturer can ensure further development; author suggests that it is preferable to use torsionally solid coupling and stiffen drive, in order to raise serious critical speeds above maximum of unit.
