Investigations carried out by Federal Post Office, West Germany, have revealed that about 80% of all parcels move between more important handling centers, while remaining 20% goes to places en route; since only small portion of parcels can be handled in containers, loading of parcels into covered trucks is still main problem; although number of loading aids is today available for work of this nature, different platform levels are major handicap; experimental use of roller containers constitutes further development in container traffic for parcels.
