In operation and testing of rocket engines using liquid propellents, it is desirable to continuously measure density of flowing liquid under transient conditions where changing temperature and pressure cause small density changes; to accomplish this, method was developed which comprises measuring electrical capacitance of calibrated concentric-cylinder capacitor inserted in rocket engine feed system; result indicates accuracy to plus or minus 1%.
