General relations needed for design of airfoils with arbitrary spanwise camber and having minimum induced drag for specified flight conditions are developed and relations for determining wing form necessary for maximum lift-drag ratio at cruise by optimizing wing with respect to profile and induced drag; sample calculations carried out for circular arc wing.
