On May 15, 1922, Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Co. and Texas Interurban Ry. entered into a contract for term of 50 years under which Missouri-Kansas-Texas R. R. would be electrified between Dallas and Denton, Texas, and used jointly by Railroad Company's steam trains and Interurban Company's electric cars.
