Reference is made to flight tests of VJ101C VTOL, built by EntwicklungsringSued (EWR) for German Defense Ministry; flight and simulator experience gained from program emphasize need for stability augmentation in at least pitch and roll axes; other features, such as control stick steering and engine failure protection, were also provided; since some of flights were performed on telescopic simulator, range of control parameters could be expanded to permit wider range and better separation of control variables; all three phases of VJ101 program as well as three distinct prototypes are described.
