Paper examines problem from fundamental, analytical viewpoint, namely, computation of control power as output of randomly disturbed mechanical system; use of proposed method also permits rational consideration of closely related handling quality aspects; paper shows that control system sensitivity and power are not strongly related, although both can affect vehicle handling qualities; numerical examples are presented to illustrate application of method.
