Article examines economic implications of U S SST program as developed by third Lockheed study which assumes first delivery in 1974, faster peak production rate, declining fare levels, and higher traffic forecasts; Lockheed's Airline System Simulation is demonstrated as it is applied in establishing economic liability of such program; findings of simulation are discussed in terms of markets for airplane types, division of passenger miles among airplane types, load factors, and airline earnings.
