Evaluation of experimental, commercially fabricated sandwich structure plastic landing mat made of glass fabric reinforced phenolic resin honeycomb core bonded top and bottom to glass reinforced epoxy resin facings; determination and comparison of structural properties of plastic mat and steel mat; laboratory tests indicated major deficiency in strength of adhesive bond between extruded aluminum connectors and facings of plastic mat; traffic tests were conducted with single-wheel load of 50,000 lb and tire pressure of 200 psi on mat-surfaced subgrade with average initial CBR of 14.
