Construction of Grevelingen dike by means of aerial cableway equipped with continuously circulating self-propelled cars; rock dump is loaded at 240 m long monorail loading station into nylon nets or tipping buckets suspended from cars; each of 12 cars traveling over two-span 1260 m long double cableway weighs 30 tons including 10 to 14 tons material; 300 hp diesel engine propels car at 4 to 9 m/sec and drives hoisting and dumping mechanism; dumping capacity of 350 tph/car was easily attained.
