Review of some of more important accomplishments of National Aircraft Standards Committee in 1942, Committee's methods of operation, and cooperative relationships between it and standards activities of SAE; author attempts to bring out economic importance of standards work in increasing production of aircraft and lowering their unit cost to Government, and to indicate effect of standards work on post war production costs of aircraft.
