Need for low resistance electrical bonding between cathodically protected and unprotected ship when berthed together; on basis of three series of electrical measurements, maximum bonding resistance of 0.0005-ohm is recommended; calculations show that instance of severe underwater hull corrosion was attributable to inadequate bonding of unprotected ship to cathodically protected ship berthed alongside.
