Histories of 2-funnel Cunarder brigs, 2403-ton La Plata, and 2093-ton Arabia, launched in 1851 and 1852; principles of American Collins liners copied; first Cunarders designed with tubular boilers instead of flue type; Arabia was transport in Crimean War, scrapped in 1864; La Plata, always on West India run was sold in 1871 for conversion into sailing ship.
