Description of St Germain built by Elsinore Shipbuilding Co for rail truck and car service between Dunkirk and Dover; length oa 379 ft 8 in.; width 62 ft 2 in.; depth to promenade deck 35 ft 8 in.; deadweight 1300 tons; propelled by two single acting 2-cycle airless injection 9-cyl trunk type engines with combined bhp of 8000, which gives ship service speed of 18 knots; train deck accommodates 36 rail cars.
