Improvements to Calumet-Sag Channel connecting Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal and Calumet River have been completed; barge tows four times larger than present tows will be able to move freely through channel to connect with deep draft navigation at Lake Calumet; first phase of project consists of utility relocation, dredging, relocation of railway and highway bridges, and construction of navigation lock.
