Societa Italiana di Navigazione Florio of Rome is building, under subsidy from Government, fleet of 13 motorships for their various services; of these nine are of one type; remaining four are 18-knot passenger vessels to operate between Naples and Palermo, also to North Africa; first vessels built specifically with idea of employing engines fitted with Buechi pressure-charging system; in each ship Tosi 6-cylinder, 4-stroke engine is installed; electric power is supplied from two Diesel generators, each of 135 hp. and running at 225 r.p.m.
