Problems of rendezvous, docking and transfer involved in resupply and crew rotation and of making full use of astronauts in experimentation by having them go outside their vehicle to adjust or exchange externally mounted packages, or to retrieve and inspect other satellites, are considered in terms of orbital technological development according to whether man plays active role in it or essentially passive one; tabulation of key technology experiments for man in space is presented.
