Summary of results obtained of work done at BAC's Preston Div on design of recoverable space transporters; any European participation in space exploration must be expressed on following requirements -- low total cost, low research and development, operation from Europe and versatility; VTO lifting-body approach is investigated and rejected; modular concept, Mustard (Multi Unit Space Transport and Recovery Device), is proposed and considered feasible.
